IPLS has a local faculty in Iraq that was instrumental in establishing the course and now ensures its sustainability. There are six IPLS Centres that currently provide regular courses to medical and nursing staff at children’s hospitals in Iraq. These are in ThiQar, Misan, Basra and Baghdad. The faculty is supported by a local team of computer engineers.
